On 15th August 1965, The Beatles performed at Shea Stadium in New York.
This was the first every concert to be played in a stadium, to a then-record breaking crowd of around 56,100 people.
The band had special amps made for the concert, going up from 30 watts to 100 watts, then the loudest amplfier available! Despite this, the deafening noise made by the crowd overpowered the band.

The set list for the show was as follows:

1. Twist and Shout
2. She’s a Woman
3. I Feel Fine
4. Dizzy Miss Lizzy
5. Ticket To Ride
6. Everybody’s Tryin’ To Be My Baby
7. Can’t Buy Me Love
8. Baby’s in Black
9. Act Naturally
10. A Hard Day’s Night
11. Help!
12. I’m Down

The band would return to Shea Stadium the following year when they toured America again, although this time around 20,000 seats remained unsold; John Lennon’s comments about The Beatles being more popular than Jesus Christ has resulted in a lot of hatred for the band, especially from the US. The band would play their final show just days after their second return to Shea Stadium, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco on August 29th 1966.
